Apr. 18th, 2024 11:52 amFlippin' colds.
It's a few tenths of a degree shy of 20C in the kitchen and I've just grabbed my big hi-vis winter coat because I'm COLD.
Last night I had four duvets and felt a darn sight better for it.
Fortunately The Cub has headed for the Lake District with her school for the next couple of days, so I can chill out a bit, but the crazy thing is, during the day I missed her favourite Bear, Weston, who's head off on the adventure too, not the Cub!
We do use Weston as a source of entertainment and a conversationasl foil, so not having the vector is awkward. Yes. We're not conventional. Mind, I do remember a gent who wrote comedy and daft books telling a story of when he was young and they had a pretend maid in the house. Everybody joined in and, if things were broken, missing or generally 'not quite quite', it would be blamed on 'Jane'*.
This was fine until the police werer called over a broken window, for which Jane had been blamed. Getting through to a stolid English Bobby that THERE IS NO JANE was... tough going.

*I think it was Jane. Jane will do as a placeholder for the while. Don't judge me :D :D :D
