Nov. 12th, 2024 08:25 amDamn. I lost the post. Again.
I should have known I was stuffed when my keyboard wouldn't show up on screen.
First frost of this end of the year, here. It's late: any night past the equinox is fair game, and that was the start of the last week in September. What we've working from home, it wouldn't be too much of a problem but the panda needed to be at an office this morning, so I was out warming the car up and clearing the windows, first thing.
This made for a briefly hectic interlude, including the Panda not being able to find her briefcase, the cub not being able to find a shirt and the taxi driver phoning to say he would be late – a point of great relief as I woke up 15 minutes after the alarm and was helping the Panda sort herself with an avocado bagel when I was supposed to be prodding the cub out of bed; The cub has a set script for getting up in the morning; unfortunately, it does not include an option to negotiate the concept 'I am late and I need to stop complaining and get out of bed right away'.
While loading her briefcase, the panda managed to lock the combination, so, added to the morning was me 'feeling the tumblers' and popping the thing open. Again.
Then!
The panda left. The cub left.
Errrr...
The house is so quiet I can hear the fan on one of the laptops and I'm wondering what to have for second breakfast.
