The panda's current manager (they come and go with various levels of success) is a big picture guy.
The panda, he says (and I completely agree) is a detail person and so they do well together as a team.

Internally knowing my own style, I asked The Panda for an external perspective, as somebody who has suffered from it over 20-odd year.

"Balanced," she said.

I'm pretty sure my head tilted to one side in that 'you WHAT?!' puzzled movement that suggests your mind has radically changed your field vision to see if a change of perspective will help interpret the situation that is currently making no sense.

"I don't mean balanced", (my head reassumed the vertical) "I mean you're very good at seeing both sides."

Ah, yes.
The annoyance, for anybody wanting a yes/no answer from somebody with a 'both sides' perspective. I am that annoying perceiver.

This wasn't what I was expecting for an answer,
I'm expecting something more along the lines of our major clash, a Perfectionist 'I can't start because I might get it wrong' Panda vs a Perfectionist 'let's try something to see if it works, THEN we can worry about getting it absolutely right' Bear. To be honest, I feel I learnt this attitude from South Africans, who when I worked there, seemed to be excellent at an enthusiastic and instant response, while the rather less outgoing Brits of my acquaintance wanted things like plans making.
I know these are gross oversimplifications, but it was a good way to explain the differences in culture. All I can say is, I envy the panda's orderliness and she occasionally thinks that being able to pick a point and start on it would be a good thing.
