(no subject)

The daughter arrived in the kitchen this evening at about 18:35, maybe a few minutes either side and presented me with my sweater; she tucked it over my shoulders and then tied the arms under me chin in an overhand knot. Simple, yes? No. In nearly 16 years that's the first time I've seen her confidently wind two ends of something around each other and pull the ends until things were just right. I wore that jumper until well after dinner, hot though it was. For her, it was getting this piece of clothing out of the way because she wanted to sit down. For me it was a cool moment in so many ways – but not wearing it, of course😄✌️
