Fingers crossed.

I swapped out the drain pump on the dishwasher. Access is a bit fiddly but not half as awkward as I'd expected, so I hacked my way back into the motor bay* and swapped out the drain motor unit, which has been making a rather unpleasant grinding sound for some time now. I ordered the replacement at about half eight last night and it was delivered just under 12 hours later. I had the thing installed before 10am and I've been running a test cycle and keeping an eye out for leaks since. So far, so good.

Right. On with the microwave! It stopped working last night...

*I don't know if I mentioned that there was a problem with a leaking seal the other day? There was a slow leak into the floor pan of the motor bay which, fortunately, has a float switch to cut off operation. The job was not as bad as cleaning out a greasy sink-trap, but had a hint of it. Removing the gunge, resetting the seal and drying out the floor pan was awkward but not too difficult and it meant not having to find a new repair guy.
